Kaluzny Bros., Inc. (KBI) is seeking a General Laborer for 2nd and 3rd shifts at our Rockdale, IL rendering plant. You will unload inbound material, process animal by‑products, and transfer outbound material while keeping a safe, clean work area.

This role operates in a greasy, hot environment and requires following supervision and communicating effectively. Wages start at $19.65/hr during probation, rise to $20.65/hr after 60 days, plus $0.25/hr raises every 6 months and shift differentials.

Responsibilities

• Handle unloading of raw material (animal bones and fats) into the plant through the operation of a forklift or driving of a spotter vehicle (with training provided)
• Cooking, grinding, and pressing of animal byproduct
• Work in a manual labor environment (including the need to frequently walk, stand, sit, shovel, climb, crouch, and kneel) during regular and hot summer temperatures
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Follow the direction of the Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager while staying highly organized and self-motivated
• Use effective problem-solving skills to minimize downtime and increase production output
• Exhibit a willing-to-learn attitude to effectively work between both plant sites
• Be adaptable to change and an effective communicator (both written and verbal)
• Follow all Company safety and compliance protocols and guidelines
• Adhere to the principles of honesty, integrity, and respect in every aspect of their role

Kaluzny Bros., Inc (KBI) is seeking a 2nd and 3rd Shift General Laborer to join our team at our rendering plant in Rockdale, IL.A successful General Laborer is a self-starter that can follow direction to effectively manage their production output in a safe and clean manner.

KBI is a family-owned and operated rendering company comprised of two operations: a grease processing facility and a bone and fat processing plant.As a General Laborer you will work directly with animal by-products (bones, hides, fat, meat, and oils) to unload inbound material, manage material processing and cooking, outbound material transfer, and cleaning.Our rendering environment requires employees to work in a greasy, hot environment with constant exposure to animal processing smells.

Wages:

• $19.65/hr for the first 60-days (during your probationary period)
• $20.65/hr after 60-days (after your probationary period)
• $0.25/hr wage increases every 6-months
• Shift Differentials: 2nd Shift: +$0.25/hr, 3rd Shift: +$0.40/hr

Work Hours:

• 2nd shift runs from 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (+$0.25/hr differential)
• 3rd shift runs from 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM (+$0.40/hr differential)

Work Days:

• Monday - Friday
• Weekends required when scheduled based on production needs (the weekend schedule is posted every Thursday)
