Job Description: General Laborer at Clean Harbors

Clean Harbors in Topeka, KS is seeking a General Laborer to join our safety-conscious team. This role involves handling and segregating carbon black in a confined space entry site, in accordance with company policies at our client location in Topeka, KS, Goodyear.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Responsibilities:

1. Prioritize health and safety by following all safe work practices and policies.
2. Perform chemical pickups and conduct chemical bulking/consolidation as directed.
3. Ensure proper packaging of waste to maximize efficiency and compliance.
4. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
5. Participate in spill response activities as needed.
6. Attend safety and compliance meetings.
7. Inspect drums for integrity and compliance.
8. Operate forklifts safely.
9. Load and unload waste hauling vehicles safely.
10. Sample and profile waste streams as necessary.
11. This is a physically demanding role; ability to lift 50 pounds is required.
12. Prepare tracking paperwork accurately.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Hazardous waste experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
• Ability to perform physical tasks as required.
• Successful completion of background check, drug test, and physical exam.
• Compliance with OSHA's Respiratory Protection standards regarding facial hair.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Forklift operation/training.
• Relevant labor experience.
• 40-Hour OSHA Certification.
• DOT Training.
• Grade 4 Industrial Wastewater License.
