Job summary

ELANTAS is seeking a General Laborer for our St. Louis, MO plant to support the Compounds department in weighing and processing materials used in production.

The role includes handling raw materials, transporting and packaging finished products, maintaining records, adhering to SOPs, and promoting a safe, efficient work environment in a team setting.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Exposure to operating or spotting around heavy equipment is a plus.
• Experience using hand tools such as pipe wrenches, screwdrivers, torque wrenches, air ratchets, etc.
• Strong mechanical aptitude including ability to measure, test and operate material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Weigh, transport, store, sample, and load raw material.
• Transport, adjust, filter, sample, and package finished products or by-product.
• Perform duties according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
• Must know and practice safety rules and regulations.
• Keep accurate records and reports.
• Report problems to supervisor and communicate with crew.
• Maintain housekeeping and follow company policies.
• Write tickets to route product to next phase of production.
• Weigh and measure products to be shipped.
• May use material handling equipment and forklift.

Your Responsibilities

We’re seeking a reliable General Laborer to support our Compounds department in the St. Louis, MO chemical manufacturing plant. This General Laborer will be responsible for the weighing and processing of materials used at all stages of production.

• Execute proper work procedures to weigh, transport, store, sample, and load any raw material.
• Execute proper work procedures to transport, adjust, filter, sample, and package finished products or process by product.
• Perform routine duties according to SOPs (Standard Operating procedures).
• Must know and practice safety rules and regulations.
• Weigh out raw materials according to specific formulas.
• Keep accurate records and reports.
• Report any problems or situations to your supervisor.
• Communicate and cooperate with the entire work crew to achieve company goals and standards.
• Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Complete various production related logs to record data and or/defective product.
• Write tickets to route product to next phase of production.
• Weigh and measure products to be shipped.
• May use miscellaneous material handling equipment to move products.
• May unload raw material by hand or forklift.
• Effectively work and communicate with other department personnel.
• Promote a positive and respectful atmosphere.

Your profile

• Proof of H.S. diploma or G.E.D. equivalency required.
