Job summary

Carmeuse is seeking a General Laborer to support multiple areas of the plant, performing essential manual tasks and operating equipment as needed to keep the facility running smoothly.

The role requires willingness to work overtime, physical stamina, and the ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions. Training and advancement opportunities, plus a comprehensive benefits package, are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Willing and able to work overtime and rotating shifts.
• Must possess basic reading and writing ability.
• Experience operating mobile equipment.
• Experience around moving machinery.
• Able to walk on uneven terrain and lift up to 60 pounds.
• Indoor/outdoor work with temperature extremes, dust, noise and humidity.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform housekeeping and manual labor throughout the plant.
• Fill in as needed in all areas of plant operation.
• Safely operate mobile equipment when necessary.
• Participate in training to improve performance and efficiency.
• Write work orders for maintenance and safety concerns.
• Communicate problems and coordinate with coworkers.
• Assist in minor maintenance tasks as directed by supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

This is a hands-on role that requires the ability and willingness to work in various areas of the plant. Your main responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operation of the facility by performing essential manual labor tasks and operating equipment as needed.

Job Summary:

General Laborer position requirements include, but are not limited to, general plant labor and clean-up of production areas; observe, monitor and report any conditions that could lead to product nonconformity or other irregularity; being trained in various entry-level production positions and fills in as needed during vacation, absences, and increased production demands. Operate small equipment; replace or assist other workers as needed or directed; and other duties as assigned by management.
