Job summary

Greenwood Fabricating & Plating LLC is hiring for a Laborer in Greenwood, SC. The role supports the Kitting cell by loading, unloading, and moving products and materials, reporting to the Kitting Cell Supervisor.

You may perform other duties to assist in timely shipment and organization. Responsibilities include stocking items, assembling crates with hand tools, stacking on pallets, weighing crates, and assisting with palletizing overflow parts.

Qualifications

• Ability to read detailed work instructions.
• Experience in an industrial environment preferred.
• Must be proficient in the use and maintenance of basic power tools.
• Ability to lift to 70 pounds at frequent intervals.
• Standing, stooping and bending 100% of the time.
• Work environment may be non climate controlled.
• Minimum age of 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Stock items needed for packing with paper, pallets, crate lids, walls, and foam.
• Gather materials to assemble crates using hand tools.
• Stack crates/boxes on pallets as directed.
• Weigh crates and document on weight sheets.
• Assist with palletizing overflow parts and store correctly.
• Operate stand-up or sit-down forklifts to move materials.
• Maintain a clean, organized department and assist with special projects.
• Assist operators in basic tasks to complete production.
• Follow all safety guidelines.

Summary of Duties:

This position will support the Kitting cell by performing general manual labor tasks, including loading, unloading, lifting, and/or moving of products and materials. This position will report to the Kitting Cell Supervisor and may be asked to perform other duties to assist in the timely shipment or organization of the Kitting Cell.

What You'll Do:

• Work with Inspector/Packer and Kitting Supervisor to stock items necessary to the packing function including silver saver paper, pallets, crate lids and walls, and foam.
• Gather materials to assemble crates, using hand tools, such as a box cutter and hammer.
• Stacks crates and/or boxes on pallets according to directions.
• Weigh all crates and document weights on applicable set weight sheets as instructed.
• Assist Inspector/Packer with palletizing overflow parts from incomplete sets, ensuring that parts are stored correctly to prevent damage.
• Operate stand-up and/or sit-down forklifts to move both raw materials and finished parts and pieces to and from the Kitting cell as instructed.
• Maintain a clean work environment, assisting with special projects related to the cleanliness and organization of the department as assigned by the department Supervisor.
• Assist operators in basic tasks as needed to complete production.
• Follows all required safety guidelines.

Requirements:

• Ability to read detailed work instructions.
• Experience working in an industrial environment preferred.
• Must be proficient in the use and maintenance of basic power tools.
• Ability to work well with other people as well as self-start and motivate while working independently.
• Must possess and demonstrate good written and communication skills.
• Ability to lift to 70 pounds at frequent intervals.
• Must maintain adequate attendance, safety, and job performance according to company policies and standards.
• This job requires standing, stooping and bending 100% of the time.
• Must be able to work in an environment that is not climate controlled.
• Minimum age of 18 years old
