Job summary

NorthStar Energy Solutions is hiring for a General Laborer – Civil / Electrical Construction in Grand Prairie, Texas. The role supports field construction activities, assisting skilled trades, equipment operators, foremen and supervisors to safely execute electrical and civil projects.

The position emphasizes site preparation, material handling, underground installation support, and general duties to keep field operations productive and efficient.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physically demanding work.
• Ability to lift and carry construction materials and equipment.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general construction and site preparation activities.
• Perform hand excavation, potholing, trench preparation, and cleanup.
• Assist equipment operators by serving as a spotter when required.
• Support installation of underground conduit, duct banks, grounding systems, and associated infrastructure.
• Assist with conduit layout, placement, spacing, and securing under the direction of qualified personnel.
• Install and/or assist with installation of pull rope and other conduit accessories.
• Assist with bedding, backfill, compaction, and restoration activities.
• Stage, load, unload, organize, and distribute construction materials.
• Assist with concrete placement and related civil activities.
• Maintain barricades, signage, and safe access around work areas.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, laydown yards, and material storage areas.
• Inspect and maintain basic hand tools and construction equipment.
• Follow instructions provided by foremen, supervisors, and equipment operators.
• Participate in daily pre-task planning, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
• Follow company safety policies, PPE requirements, and site-specific procedures.
• Identify and immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or potential hazards.

General Laborer – Civil / Electrical Construction

The General Laborer supports field construction activities by assisting skilled trades, equipment operators, foremen, and supervisors with the safe and efficient execution of electrical and civil construction work.
