Job summary

Factory Direct Enterprises LLC d/b/a Ashley is hiring a General Laborer for our furniture distribution warehouse. The role emphasizes safe handling, moving, loading, and organizing merchandise across receiving, storage, and shipping areas.

The position requires reliability, ability to follow instructions, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety, productivity, and quality. A strong team player mindset is essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Previous warehouse, distribution, furniture, moving, shipping, receiving, or general labor experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must be dependable and punctual.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Must be able to consistently meet the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Safely lift, carry, push, pull, and move furniture and merchandise throughout the warehouse.
  • Consistently handle and move products weighing approximately 50–75 pounds throughout an 8-hour shift.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the necessary pace and productivity to support the team and overall operation.
  • Move with purpose and urgency while maintaining safe work practices.
  • Load and unload trucks, carts, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Move merchandise between receiving, storage, picking, assembly, and shipping areas as needed.
  • Assist with furniture preparation, assembly, staging, downstacking, and loadout.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
  • Follow all warehouse safety procedures and use proper lifting and material-handling techniques.
  • Work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
  • Follow direction from warehouse leadership and adjust priorities as business needs change.
  • Work cooperatively with team members to maintain smooth product flow throughout the operation.
  • Maintain awareness of the pace of the operation and help prevent delays or bottlenecks.
  • Inspect merchandise for visible damage and report concerns to leadership.
  • Properly use warehouse equipment and tools after receiving required training.
  • Perform other general warehouse duties as assigned.

General Laborer – Furniture Distribution Warehouse

Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour

Schedule: Full-Time | 8-Hour Shift

Department: Warehouse Operations

Position Summary

We are looking for a dependable and hardworking General Laborer to join our furniture distribution warehouse team. This position is responsible for safely handling, moving, loading, unloading, organizing, and preparing furniture and merchandise throughout the warehouse.

This is a fast-paced, physically demanding work environment. Team members are expected to maintain an appropriate work pace, move with purpose, and work efficiently with others to keep product flowing throughout the operation. The ability to work at the necessary speed while maintaining safety, quality, and accuracy is essential to the position.

The ideal candidate is physically capable, reliable, works well as part of a team, and understands the importance of safety, productivity, quality, teamwork, and following established processes and procedures.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding warehouse position in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates must be able to:

  • Repeatedly lift and move 50–75 pounds throughout the workday.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and maneuver furniture and merchandise.
  • Maintain an appropriate work pace throughout an 8-hour shift.
  • Move efficiently and at the necessary speed to keep up with team and operational demands.
  • Perform repetitive lifting and material-handling tasks while maintaining proper safety practices.
  • Safely work around warehouse equipment, carts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Maintain productivity while transitioning between different tasks and areas of the warehouse.
