Job summary

Virginia Tech in Blacksburg is seeking staff to perform diverse duties in departmental laboratories, including daily routines, ordering supplies, monitoring inventory, and maintaining equipment service records and contracts.

Duties may also involve feeding and watering animals, cleaning cages, keeping research records, inventory and purchasing. This Emergency Hire opportunity is limited to 130 calendar days of employment.

Qualifications

• Previous laboratory experience following research protocol.
• Ability to keep an experimental laboratory notebook as instructed.
• Working knowledge of good laboratory practices, especially safety.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to interact respectfully with a diverse environment.
