Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking general labor to safely handle lumber products and verify that material meets customer requirements and company expectations. The role includes moving and securing materials, labeling, stacking, and maintaining inventory while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED (not strictly required), basic math skills, and be at least 18 years old. Manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• No minimum experience required; manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
• Stack finished products according to bundle sizes and customer requirements.
• Label material by type, size, and count.
• Tag material before/after treating/production.
• Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
• Band, bundle, and secure material with corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Maintain inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Assist with other work areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
• Participate in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

• Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions
• Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
• Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
• Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
• Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
• Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
• Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
• Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
• Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
• Records production on production sheets
• Maintains a clean and organized work area
• Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
• Performs other duties as required
