Job summary

Aspire Bakeries in Van Nuys, CA is seeking an Oven/Proofer Support Operator to help shape, slice, align, and move product through proofer and oven systems to ensure quality and safety.

This 3rd shift role runs 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with weekend availability; hourly pay $19.75–$21.50. Candidates should be reliable, safety‑minded, able to stand long hours, and comfortable in a high‑temp bakery environment.

Responsibilities

• Support final forming, slicing, and product alignment for quality.
• Monitor movement on proofer plates and oven discharge conveyors.
• Maintain clean, foodsafe oven and proofer work areas.
• Assist Oven Operators with control of Proof Box and Oven systems.
• Ensure cutting tools are safe, sharp, and disposed of per GMP.
• Complete accurate data entry and production quality records.
• Identify and report contamination risks or safety issues immediately.

About the Role

We are seeking an Oven/Proofer Support Operator to join our team at our Van Nuys, CA bakery. As an Oven/Proofer Support Operator, you will be accountable for supporting the shaping, slicing, alignment, and flow of product through the proofer and oven systems to ensure consistent quality, safety, and efficiency throughout the baking process.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: 3rd
• Hours: 10PM - 6:30AM
• Weekend availability: Required

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $19.75 - $21.50

Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)

• Support final forming, slicing, and product alignment to ensure consistent quality and process flow
• Monitor product movement on proofer plates and oven discharge conveyors to maintain specifications
• Maintain clean, organized, foodsafe oven and proofer work areas
• Assist Oven Operators in maintaining control of the Proof Box and Oven systems
• Ensure cutting tools are safe, sharp, and properly disposed of in accordance with GMP requirements
• Complete accurate data entry and documentation to support quality and production records
• Identify and report contamination risks, equipment concerns, or safety issues immediately

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to work at a consistent processing pace and follow verbal instructions
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 10 lbs. as needed
• Ability to work in enclosed, hightemperature or varying environmental conditions
• Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to quality and safety
• Must be reliable, safetyconscious, and able to work harmoniously with peers

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

• Prior experience in bakery or foodmanufacturing environments
• Experience working with proofer or oven systems
• Understanding of GMPs, foodsafety principles, and Lockout/Tagout awareness
• Ability to identify quality deviations and take corrective action
