Job summary

Fresh Express Salads in Streamwood, IL is seeking general production workers to support a fast‑paced food manufacturing line with trimming, packaging, and material handling duties. The role involves adapting to daily tasks as production needs change.

Shifts run 6:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. The position requires lifting 25+ pounds, standing 10+ hours, working in a wet, cold environment (~36°F), and potential overtime on weekends if needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and execute actions based on verbal and visual instructions.
• Ability to lift 25+ pounds repetitively.
• Stand for the duration of the shift (10 hours or more).
• Bend continuously throughout the shift.
• Able to work in a noisy, wet and cold environment (~36°F).
• Must be able to work 6 consecutive days, overtime and weekends if necessary.
• Perform repetitive motions for the duration of the shift.
• Able to reach with hands and arms to check product.

Responsibilities

• Trimming techniques and related production tasks.
• Perform visual inspection of raw products during trimming, spreading, and rework.
• Communicate quality issues to appropriate personnel.
• Ensure prompt changeovers when performing condiment inserter functions.
• Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
• Meet daily production standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

General production workers are responsible for performing a variety of tasks in a food manufacturing environment. Required tasks may include but are not limited to; Trimming, erecting corrugated boxes, general housekeeping (Utility), material handling functions, performing rework, condiment inserter and product spreading. Other functions may include packing bags in corrugated boxes and palletizing while meeting and exceeding all safety, quality, and efficiency standards. Job functions are subject to change from day to day depending on customer requirements.

Schedule

6:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Saturday

Job Functions

• Demonstrate knowledge of all trimming techniques. (Depending upon area of assignment)
• Perform visual inspection of all raw products while performing the trimming process, product spreading, and rework functions.
• Communicate quality issues of raw product to the appropriate personnel.
• Ensure prompt and timeliness of changeovers when performing condiment inserter functions. (When Required)
• Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
• Ability to meet daily production standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
