Job summary

Valmont Industries in Folsom, NJ is seeking General Shop Help to support galvanizing operations in the Global Coatings Division. You will assist in racking, kettle, and finishing areas, handling steel parts, and maintaining safe working conditions in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds, read instructions and tape measures, and follow safety procedures. Applicants with six months of galvanizing/hand tool experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• The ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• The ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely in a galvanizing environment.
• Experience with hand tools and gauges including impact wrenches, air grinders, drills, taps, oxygen acetylene torches, and mill gauges is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in the racking department and prepare products and materials for galvanizing by hanging on spreader bars.
• Work in the kettle area performing paddling functions to enhance galvanized product quality and use air tools as needed.
• Work in finishing, move lightweight steel, assist with cleanup, deburr galvanized products, stack for shipment and remove chains and wires from racks.
