UFP Industries is seeking a general labor associate to safely handle lumber products and verify material meets customer requirements and company expectations. You will move, stack, label, and secure materials while maintaining accurate production records.

The role emphasizes working in a team environment with adherence to safety, quality, and organizational standards. Candidates must be 18+ and may have basic math skills; experience in manufacturing or lumber is a plus.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.
• No minimum experience required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products according to instructions.
• Stack finished products per bundle sizes or customer requirements.
• Label material by type, size and count.
• Apply tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Operate a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
• Band, bundle and secure material with corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and report discrepancies.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Support other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
• Participate in safety and CI programs.

Job Summary

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions
• Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
• Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
• Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
• Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
• Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
• Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
• Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
• Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
• Records production on production sheets
• Maintains a clean and organized work area
• Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
• No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
