Precast Laborer
This role supports multiple departments within a precast yard by assembling forms, assisting the customs department, and performing a variety of general labor tasks. You will work with concrete, hand and power tools, and equipment to help ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production of precast products.
Responsibilities
- Assist in assembling and setting up precast forms according to specifications and instructions.
- Support different departments in the precast yard with general labor tasks as needed.
- Help the customs department with handling and preparing materials or products for custom orders.
- Work with concrete, including basic preparation, placement, and cleanup activities.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during daily tasks.
- Operate or assist with operating equipment such as forklifts when required and if qualified.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the yard and production spaces.
- Follow all safety procedures, guidelines, and instructions to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Assist team members with lifting, moving, and positioning materials and products.
- Perform other general construction and production duties assigned by supervisors to support overall yard operations.
Essential Skills
- Experience in construction labor or a similar hands-on labor role.
- Proficiency in using basic hand tools for construction and general labor tasks.
- Ability to safely use power tools in a production or construction environment.
- Comfort working with concrete and around precast production processes.
- Capability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and production guidelines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a precast, construction, or production environment.
- Familiarity with carpentry tasks related to form assembly and material handling.
- Forklift experience or willingness to learn forklift operation, if needed.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple departments.
- Reliability and punctuality in a fast-paced, production-focused setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Post Falls, ID.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
