Responsibilities

• Assist with placing, pulling, positioning, and securing tarps over grain piles.
• Work as part of a team to safely cover and protect grain piles for the season.
• Lift, carry, pull, and move tarps, equipment, and other materials throughout the worksite.
• Secure tarps and materials as directed to help protect stored grain from weather and environmental conditions.
• Perform physically demanding work that requires frequent lifting, pulling, bending, reaching, and walking.
• Walk and stand for extended periods on outdoor and potentially uneven surfaces.
• Assist with general labor and cleanup around the grain storage area as needed.
• Follow supervisor instructions and established worksite procedures.
• Follow all required safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

General Laborer

PeopleReady is now hiring General Laborers in Pasco, WA to support seasonal operations at a local grain facility.

This is a 3 days project in October and November, and is physically demanding outdoor position assisting with covering and securing large grain piles for the season. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, performing repetitive heavy lifting, and walking and standing for extended periods throughout the shift.

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $17.50 - $17.50 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a General Laborer:

• Assist with placing, pulling, positioning, and securing large tarps over grain piles
• Work as part of a team to safely cover and protect grain piles for the season
• Lift, carry, pull, and move tarps, equipment, and other materials throughout the worksite

Job requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
• Previous general labor, agricultural, warehouse, construction, landscaping, or other physically demanding work experience preferred
• Ability to perform repetitive heavy lifting throughout the shift
• Ability to lift and carry materials safely a minimum of 50 pounds
• Comfortable with frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, pulling, and carrying
• Ability to work outdoors for the duration of the shift in varying weather conditions
• Comfortable working on uneven outdoor surfaces
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a team
• Dependable and able to report to scheduled shifts on time
• Ability to follow all workplace and jobsite safety requirements
