Job summary

Green Circle Growers is seeking a General Labor candidate to prepare flowers and plants for shipping. Responsibilities include planting, cultivating, and maintaining nursery seedlings and plants such as perennials, bedding plants, plugs, liners, and baskets.

The role supports high-quality plants through varied seasonal tasks, with requirements for standing, lifting, and working in different temperatures. Training and safety procedures are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 months of nursery/manufacturing/assembly/shipping/receiving experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to perform manual tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
• Lift items and products up to 20lbs.
• Push and pull carts that can weigh up to 200lbs.
• Use hand tools including shovels, shears, and clippers.
• Follow verbal and written direction.
• Bend, stoop, kneel, and climb.
• Have good attendance.
• Have a positive attitude and be willing to work.
• Work in extreme temperatures based on season.
• Work at a fast pace, with long periods of standing, bending, or sitting.
• Must adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have availability to work Saturdays and additional hours as dictated by the daily schedule.

Responsibilities

• Pot and plant seedlings, fill and label trays, move product to greenhouses, organize product on docks for loading, and pull and/or assemble orders in accordance with instruction.
• Attach hangers to baskets and hang through seasonal holding houses using ladders.
• Move containerized plants using rolling or electric carts.
• Load and unload trucks, supplies, and product from conveyor belt.
• Lift, carry, and load and unload products or supplies.
• Clear debris from production floor and greenhouse and clean and maintain farm buildings, structures, equipment, and work areas.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION OVERVIEW

General Labor is responsible for the preparation of flowers and other plants for shipping and sale to our customers. The General Labor position includes planting, cultivating, and maintaining nursery seedlings and plants including perennials, bedding plants, plugs, liners, vegetable plants, and hanging baskets. The General Labor position directly contributes to the highest quality plants in the industry.

Job Duties

• Pot and plant seedlings, fill and label trays, move product to greenhouses, organize product on docks for loading, and pull and/or assemble orders in accordance with instruction
• Attach hangers to baskets and hang through seasonal holding houses using ladders

• Plant/Production facility, occasionally outside, or in-store; Possible extreme heat/cold dependent on season

• Frequently requires walking, lifting (up to 50lbs), carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling (up to 200lbs), bending, and crouching
• Occasionally requires sitting, standing, fine dexterity, climbing and handling
• May require ability to operate machinery, drive vehicles (truck, car, van, tug, forklift) or use equipment such as hand tools, computers, or general business equipment
• CDL license or tug/forklift certification may be required
