Job summary

UFP Industries in Iowa is hiring general labor to safely handle products, verify materials meet customer requirements, and perform light maintenance as needed.

The role involves moving, stacking, labeling, tagging, securing materials, and maintaining inventory and production records. A high school diploma is preferred but not required, and no minimum experience is required; 18+ years old eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• Manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.
• Basic math skills preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure products and materials according to instructions.
• Stack finished products by predetermined bundle sizes or customer requirements.
• Label material by type, size, and count.
• Attach individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Band, bundle and secure material, including corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follow instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements.
• Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
• Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
• Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
• Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
• Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
• Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
• Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
• Records production on production sheets
• Maintains a clean and organized work area
• Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications
