TikTok is seeking interns to join the Trust and Safety engineering team for hands-on experience during a 12-week summer program in the United States. Interns will collaborate with machine learning engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver key results and design technical solutions that support business requirements.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an Undergraduate or Master degree in software development or related fields, with strong data structures/algorithms skills and good communication

Responsibilities

The Trust and Safety (TnS) engineering team is responsible for protecting our users from harmful content and abusive behaviors. With the continuous efforts of our trust and safety engineering team, TikTok can provide the best user experience and bring joy to everyone in the world. Our team is responsible for achieving goals by building content moderation process systems, rule engines, strategy systems, feature engines, human moderation platforms, risk insight systems, and all kinds of supportive platforms across TnS organization.

We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship. Our internship program offers students hands‑on experience, industry exposure, and opportunities to apply their knowledge to real‑world challenges while building a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. Interns will gain practical experience, explore potential career paths, and participate in social events, learning programs, and development workshops alongside industry professionals.

Internship Responsibilities

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Master degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Prior experience working with languages like Go/Python/PHP/C++/C/Java.


• Strong experience with Data Structures and Algorithms.


• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated software engineering experience from previous internships, work experience, projects, or coding competitions.


• High levels of creativity and quick problem‑solving capabilities.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Hourly) - Campus Intern

The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $42.75- $42.75.

Benefits

• Interns have day one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more.


• Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year).


• Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance.
