Job summary

Onward Education is seeking a dedicated General Education Teacher (Math) for the 2026–2027 school year in New Haven County, CT. This full-time, on-site position supports students with standards-aligned math instruction and collaborative planning with school leaders and staff.

You'll deliver engaging lessons to middle and high school students (grades 4–12), use data to inform instruction, and contribute to a positive classroom culture while keeping accurate records and meeting district and state

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Valid Connecticut teaching certification for Math (Grades 4–12).
• Experience teaching math in a school setting (middle/high school preferred).
• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills.

We’re partnering with a school district in New Haven County, Connecticut to hire a dedicated General Education Teacher (Math) for the 2026–2027 school year.

This full-time, onsite opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact supporting students through high-quality instruction, data-driven planning, and strong classroom culture. In this role, you’ll deliver standards-aligned math instruction and collaborate with school leaders, support staff, and families to promote student growth and achievement.

• Location: Onsite in New Haven County, CT
• Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
• Weekly Hours: 35 hours per week
• School Year: 2026–2027
• Role Focus: Math - Middle School (Grades 4–8) and/or Secondary (Grades 7–12)

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned math instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners in a general education setting.
• Create a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that supports academic success and strong student culture.
• Differentiate instruction and use targeted supports to help students access grade-level content.
• Use assessment data (formal and informal) to monitor progress, adjust instruction, and provide timely interventions/enrichment.
• Collaborate with special education, intervention, and support staff to implement accommodations and instructional strategies.
• Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress, expectations, and ways to support learning at home.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-based initiatives as required.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with district, state, and school expectations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (required); Master’s degree (preferred if required by district)
• Valid Connecticut teaching certification appropriate for the assignment (Math), such as: Math, Middle School (Grades 4–8) and/or Math (Grades 7–12)
• Prior experience teaching math in a school setting (middle and/or high school preferred)
• Strong classroom management, lesson planning, and collaboration skills
• Commitment to supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of students
