Job summary

The National Center for Urban Solutions - NCUS is seeking a General Education Teacher to provide academic support, manage testing, and document course completion while fostering a positive learning environment.

You will collaborate with students, families, and colleagues to deliver high-quality instruction, develop life-skills activities, and implement individualized plans for students with diverse needs, including students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field.
• State teaching certification or licensure in the relevant subject area.
• Previous teaching experience, preferably in a K-12 setting.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage scholars and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support and deliver instruction aligned to the curriculum.
• Develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with diverse needs.
• Utilize diverse instructional techniques to promote growth and monitor progress.
• Administer and proctor tests, maintain accurate records, and report results.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align testing and assessments.
• Create life-skills activities and foster inclusive, respectful classroom environments.
• Coordinate with specialists to support students' IEP goals and progress.
