Job summary

Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph, MO, seeks a General Duty Sterile Processing Technician to ensure surgical supplies and instruments are correctly inventoried, sterilized, stored, and tracked. You will work with minimal supervision to support OR/SPD operations and quality control.

Responsibilities include handling sterile items, documenting sterilization loads, and maintaining efficient workflow across facilities.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required with attention to detail.
• Experience in sterile processing preferred.
• Ability to travel between facilities as needed.

• Cleans Biomedical equipment for patient use.
• Anticipates instrument needs for cases based on cards.
• Maintains workflow by handling return items and wrapping for sterilization.
• Monitors cart wash and instrument wash to keep workflow moving.
• Answers phone and door, and pull case carts as needed.

Job Description

Works under the supervision of the Manager–OR and/or Director – OR\\SPD. This position is responsible for ensuring that all surgical supplies, instruments and equipment are properly inventoried, assembled, packaged, sterilized, stored, distributed and tracked in a quality/timely manner throughout the hospital and clinics. Works independently with little supervision. Performs appropriate quality control testing and record keeping as recommended.

• Properly handles and stores sterile supplies, equipment, and instruments.
• Selects appropriate sterilization methods. Knows and follows correct principles of sterilization.
