Job description

General Dentist – Middletown, New York

Position Type & Schedule:

  • Full-Time.

  • Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

  • Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, productive, and patient-focused General Dentist to join our established practice in Middletown, New York. This is an excellent opportunity for a comprehensive clinician who wants to step into an established patient base, practice with autonomy, and build a long-term future within a growing multi-location dental organization.

We are specifically looking for a dentist who takes a comprehensive approach to diagnosis and treatment planning rather than simply addressing individual problems as they arise. The ideal provider will be comfortable delivering a broad spectrum of general dentistry, including restorative care, endodontics, and surgical extractions.

This position offers strong earning potential, an initial compensation guarantee, and—for a high-performing dentist interested in more than a traditional associate position—the potential for true equity and future practice ownership.

About the Area

Located in New York's beautiful Hudson Valley, Middletown offers an attractive combination of affordability, accessibility, and quality of life. The community provides convenient access to the Hudson Valley, northern New Jersey, and the greater New York City metropolitan area while maintaining a more relaxed suburban lifestyle.

Middletown and the surrounding Orange County communities continue to experience residential growth and serve a diverse population of families, trades professionals, corporate professionals, and commuters. For a dentist interested in establishing long-term roots, the area provides an excellent environment in which to develop a loyal and productive patient base.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $800–$1,000 daily guarantee.

  • 35% of adjusted collections.

  • Monthly compensation true-up.

  • Initial 90-day guarantee period.

  • Malpractice reimbursement or health insurance contribution.

  • 401(k) retirement plan.

  • Strong long-term earning potential.

  • Potential opportunity for true equity and future practice ownership for a high-performing provider.

Practice Overview:

  • Established 5-chair dental practice.

  • Primarily PPO patient base.

  • Diverse and established community patient population.

  • Comprehensive general dentistry.

  • Strong emphasis on comprehensive diagnosis and treatment planning.

  • Experienced administrative and clinical support.

  • Part of a growing multi-location dental organization.

  • Opportunity for long-term professional and ownership growth.

Technology & Clinical Support:

The practice provides a modern digital workflow including:

  • Dentrix practice management software.

  • Digital radiography.

  • Digital panoramic imaging.

  • Medit i700 intraoral scanner.

  • Dedicated dental assistant support.

  • Experienced front-office and administrative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive examinations, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

  • Provide preventive, restorative, and comprehensive general dentistry.

  • Perform endodontic procedures appropriate to the provider's clinical abilities.

  • Perform routine and surgical extractions.

  • Understand implant dentistry and incorporate implant treatment appropriately into comprehensive treatment planning.

  • Develop long-term treatment strategies rather than focusing solely on individual or emergent dental concerns.

  • Educate patients regarding treatment options, preventive care, and long-term oral health.

  • Communicate treatment recommendations clearly and effectively to encourage informed patient decisions.

  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative team members to provide an efficient and positive patient experience.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

  • Build lasting patient relationships through excellent communication and high-quality clinical care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.

  • Active New York dental license in good standing or ability to obtain.

  • Current CPR certification.

  • Strong comprehensive diagnosis and treatment-planning abilities.

  • Proficiency in bread-and-butter restorative dentistry.

  • Comfortable performing endodontics and surgical extractions.

  • Strong communication and patient relationship skills.

Experience Requirements:

  • Prior clinical experience strongly preferred.

  • Must be comfortable practicing independently and managing a comprehensive general dentistry schedule.

  • Spanish-speaking or bilingual candidates are highly preferred.

Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a dentist who:

  • Thinks comprehensively when diagnosing and treatment planning.

  • Is productive without sacrificing quality of care.

  • Is comfortable providing a broad range of general dental procedures.

  • Can confidently perform endodontics and surgical extractions.

  • Understands implant dentistry and can incorporate implants into appropriate treatment plans, even if they do not personally place them.

  • Builds trust with patients and effectively communicates comprehensive treatment recommendations.

  • Is dependable, motivated, and interested in becoming a long-term member of the practice.

  • Has an entrepreneurial mindset and may eventually be interested in practice ownership.

Practice Environment

Our organization is continuing to grow and is focused on developing strong practices led by clinicians who value comprehensive dentistry, patient relationships, and long-term professional growth.

Providers benefit from the resources and stability of a growing multi-location organization while maintaining the clinical autonomy necessary to diagnose and treat patients based on their individual needs.

For the right provider, this opportunity can extend well beyond a traditional associate position. High-performing doctors may have the opportunity to pursue true equity through ownership in an individual practice, providing a meaningful pathway to participate directly in the long-term success of the organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced General Dentist seeking strong earning potential, clinical autonomy, comprehensive dentistry, an established patient base, and a legitimate pathway toward future ownership.
