Job description

Position Summary

The Dentist is responsible for delivering quality and efficient dental care to the patient population at the Health Center, with a mission-driven focus to serve the medically underserved.

The Dental Team at Mary's Center is seeking full-time, part-time, and per diem General Dentists for our three dental clinics.

Reportability

This position reports directly to the Vice President of Dental Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete routine and comprehensive oral examinations.
• Maintain the quality of dental care.
• Perform procedures such as fillings, endodontics, extractions, partials, crowns and bridges, and sealants.
• Diagnose dental diseases and oral pathologies, develop treatment plans, and prioritize treatments.
• Provide ongoing dental education.
• Thoroughly document all interventions and services provided to patients.
• Oversee the dental hygienist and assistant on duty.
• Consult on the purchase of dental equipment.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure best practices in dental and other services.
• Treat patients with moderate to severe dental infections on an emergency basis.
• Participate in agency-wide and clinical meetings as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Candidates must have completed an ADA-accredited dental program, hold a DDS/DMD degree, DEA certification, and a valid Washington DC license. Spanish language skills are preferred.

Physical Demands

Regularly sit; frequently reach, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, or hear; able to lift objects up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

Primarily in office or home settings with quiet to moderate noise levels; may be exposed to extreme weather conditions outdoors.
