Job summary

Sanford Contractors, Inc. seeks a dependable team member able to perform tasks independently and prioritize daily duties with a strong attention to detail, maintaining the Sanford Contractors brand in appearance and conduct on site.

You will support field operations, learn safely, meet daily production goals, and follow safety policies to protect workers and equipment in varied outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs+ and perform physical tasks outdoors.
• Ability to follow directions and work with a team.
• Willingness to learn safe operation of entry-level grading equipment.
• OSHA Safety Training and physical requirements are required.

Responsibilities

• Be punctual, dependable and professional at all times.
• Be willing and able to learn on a consistent, daily basis.
• Work with cost effectiveness, profitability and safety in mind.

• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Take care of equipment and hand tools, notify supervisor of items needing attention.
• Be aware of the activities planned for the day.
• Work to meet daily production goals.
• Keep jobsite, equipment, truck and trailer neat and orderly.
• Take all necessary actions to protect work in place.
• Ensure all equipment and tools are taken care of and stored neatly and properly when not in use.
• Be willing to learn the safe operation of entry level grading equipment such as rollers, off-road trucks, etc.
• Always work to achieve the highest quality work possible.
• Pay attention to the ongoing task at hand, anticipate the next step in the process and prepare accordingly.
• Communicate time away from work with your team leader and other team members with sufficient notice to make plans for changing personnel to focus on the priorities.
• Willingness to work hours as required.

Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders regularly. Work involves frequent shoveling, raking, using hand tools and handling materials in and around trenches or uneven terrain. Requires standing or walking for extended periods and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
