Job summary

Berkotfoods is hiring a General Construction Laborer in Joliet, IL. This full-time role involves assisting with construction, remodeling, and repair projects across company facilities, including site prep, demolition, and material handling.

Ideal candidates have basic knowledge of construction methods and safety practices, can operate hand and power tools safely, and can stand for 5 hours while lifting up to 40 lbs. Insurance and PTO are provided after qualifying periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, building maintenance, remodeling or related trade preferred.
• Basic knowledge of construction methods, tools, and safety practices.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools.
• Able to stand for 5 hours.
• Able to lift 40 lbs.
• Insurance package after 60 days of employment (medical, dental, vision, and more).
• Paid Time Off after 1 year of Full-Time service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction, remodeling, renovation, and repair projects at company facilities.
• Perform general demolition, site preparation, cleanup, and material handling.
• Install, repair, and maintain drywall, flooring, ceiling tiles, doors, shelving, fixtures, and other building components.
• Assist with basic carpentry, painting, concrete work, and general building maintenance.
• Load, unload, transport, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and other construction equipment safely and effectively.
• Follow project plans, work orders, and supervisor instructions to complete assigned tasks.
• Comply with all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Travel to various company locations as needed to complete assigned projects.
