Job summary

CCS Facility Services in the United States is seeking a Lead General Cleaner to guide day-to-day janitorial work on a client site. You will supervise staff, ensure cleaning tasks meet quality and safety standards, and serve as the on-site point of contact to coordinate schedules and communicate with managers.

This role emphasizes hands-on cleaning, training new team members, monitoring performance, and maintaining supplies while protecting building security.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
• Prior leadership or team lead experience preferred.
• Ability to train and motivate employees.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform physical cleaning duties throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform all General Cleaner duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, disinfecting, trash removal, and restroom cleaning.
• Lead and support janitorial staff during assigned shifts.
• Train new employees on cleaning procedures, safety requirements, and site-specific expectations.
• Monitor the quality of work performed and provide coaching when needed.
• Ensure all assigned areas are cleaned according to customer and company standards.
• Assist with work assignments and daily task distribution.
• Report attendance, performance concerns, and staffing needs to management.
• Maintain adequate cleaning supplies and notify supervisors when inventory is low.
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs or safety concerns.
• Ensure employees follow company policies, safety procedures, and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Complete required reports, inspection forms, and communication logs.
• Assist with special projects and additional cleaning duties as assigned.
• Secure the building, including locking doors and setting alarms when required.

• Help ensure employees are clocking in/out correctly and following timekeeping procedures.
