Job summary

Programmed Cleaning INC is seeking a reliable Part-Time General Cleaner for the St. Paul University Foundation. The shift is Monday–Friday, 2:00 AM–6:30 AM, with a pay rate of $17.00 per hour. The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness across assigned facilities and supporting a fast-paced environment.

The General Cleaner must be dependable, flexible, and capable of performing all cleaning duties assigned by the Supervisor or Manager, with an emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Stand and walk for the duration of the shift while completing tasks.
• Lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Good communication and willingness to follow instructions.
• Able to safely handle cleaning chemicals per procedures.

Responsibilities

• Dust and clean surfaces, desks, partitions, and other areas.
• Empty trash and recyclables; transport waste to disposal areas.
• Sweep and mop hard-surface floors; vacuum carpets as needed.
• Spot-clean carpets; clean glass and restroom surfaces.
• Restock supplies; follow safety standards and supervisor instructions.

JOB SUMMARY

The General Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of assigned buildings and work areas. The Cleaner must be dependable, flexible, and willing to perform all cleaning duties assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Dust and clean surfaces, including desktops, cabinet tops, partitions, and other areas.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
• Sweep and mop hard-surface floors.
• Vacuum floors using upright vacuums and/or backpack vacuums.
• Spot-clean carpets as needed.
• Clean and maintain glass surfaces and areas.
• Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, floors, and other restroom surfaces.
• Clean restrooms and ensure all restroom supplies are properly stocked.
• Polish metal fixtures, fittings, and other designated surfaces.
• Perform additional cleaning duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
• Follow all company safety standards, policies, and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift while completing assigned tasks.
• Ability to frequently bend, lift, carry, reach, and extend arms and hands above shoulder level.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team when required.
• Ability to safely work with cleaning chemicals and follow proper handling procedures.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be dependable, responsible, and able to follow instructions.
