Job summary

HES Facilities is seeking a custodial team member to perform floor care, window cleaning, restroom maintenance, and related duties at educational sites. You will follow established cleaning schedules, maintain safety protocols, and support event setup as needed.

Ideal candidates read and write competently, communicate well with a diverse group, and are willing to learn. A clear background check is required to ensure compliance with school-partner requirements.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, and wax floors.
• Machine shampoo carpeting.
• Clean walls, vents, fixtures, and interior surfaces.
• Wash interior and exterior windows and glass doors.
• Empty trash and maintain cleanliness outside entrances.
• Clean restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Replace accessible interior light bulbs.
• Submit work requests for repairs as needed.
• Remove snow/ice and apply salt when required.
• Organize custodial closets and assist with setup for events.
• Assist with moving and arranging furniture as directed by supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, and wax floors.
• Machine shampoo carpeting.
• Clean walls, vents, screens, furniture, drinking fountains, light fixtures, window blinds, brass, and other interior fixtures
• Wash interior and exterior windows and glass doors.
• Sweep entryways, empty exterior cigarette urns, and empty trash cans immediately outside building entrances.
• Clean restrooms, plunger sinks and toilets, and replenish supplies.
• Change interior light bulbs that can be reached from the sixth step of a ladder or lower.
• Complete work requests to notify management of needed repair work.
• Remove snow and ice and apply salt and/or ice melting products to assigned areas when needed.
• Organize and supply custodial closets as needed.
• Move, remove, and/or set up furniture, furnishings, supplies, equipment, and any other items, inside specified rooms for special functions as directed.
• Additional job-related duties as required by the supervisor.
