Job summary

UnityPoint Clinic in Dubuque, IA is actively recruiting for a General Cardiologist to join our team. This physician-led, nonprofit health system provides primary, walk-in and specialty care with integrated EPIC EMR and multi-regional support from nearby markets.

The role supports a full-time schedule with dedicated administrative time and flexible patient access. The ideal candidate will be MD or DO, board eligible or certified in General Cardiology, with Iowa licensure and US work eligibility.

Qualifications

• MD or DO required.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Cardiology.
• Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa.
• Current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as appropriate for physician’s field of practice.
• Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt).
• J-1 waiver sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Shared call amongst the providers. Physician sees own patients for call during business hours.
• Practice is a mix of inpatient and outpatient.
• Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve.
• Two nearby outreach locations are visited by Physician once per month.
• Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.
• Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Established team of 1 physician and 2 Advanced Practitioners
• Established practice serving the Dubuque community
• Multi-regional support from other Cardiology physicians from nearby Cedar Rapids market
• Experienced staff, both clinical and non-clinical, who know the patients and the community
• Full-time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access
• 24/7 hospitalist program is responsible for adult and pediatric inpatients
• Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination
