Job summary

EPIC Health in Southfield, Michigan, is seeking a Board-Certified General Cardiologist to join a growing, multidisciplinary medical group. The role includes inpatient and outpatient care, diagnostics, interventions, and rehabilitation, with weekend rounding until noon to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in cardiology or board-eligible with intent to certify.
• Active or eligible for Michigan medical license.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency and cardiology fellowship.
• Ability to interpret a broad range of cardiovascular imaging.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development of a comprehensive cardiology department.
• Evaluate and treat patients using advanced diagnostic and treatment skills.
• Provide overreads of cardiovascular imaging including echocardiograms, stress tests, ECGs, and nuclear imaging.
• Coordinate discharge planning and ensure seamless patient transitions.
• Participate in inpatient and outpatient cardiology consultations.
• Support quality improvement and cost-effectiveness initiatives.
• Accept referrals and serve as admitting/attending/consulting physician as needed.
• Support weekend rounding until noon.

What You'll Do

• Contribute to the development of a comprehensive cardiology department offering a wide range of services, including:
  • Diagnostic testing
  • Cardiac catheterizations
  • Pacemaker implantation
  • Cardiac rehabilitation
• Evaluate and treat patients using advanced medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
• Provide overreads of all cardiovascular imaging including echocardiograms, stress tests, ECGs, and nuclear cardiology.
• Coordinate discharge planning in collaboration with case management to ensure seamless patient transitions.
• Actively recommend and participate in efforts to improve the quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of care.
• Accept patient referrals from other physicians and serve as admitting, attending, or consulting physician as needed.
• Participate in both inpatient and outpatient consultation for cardiology services.
• Participate in academic programs , including education and research initiatives, as requested.
• Ensure timely and complete documentation that meets insurance and quality requirements; manage appeals for any denials as needed.
• Provide weekend rounding until noon only , supporting work-life balance for you and your team.

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Cardiology (or Board Eligible with intent to certify)
• Active or eligible for Michigan medical license
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency and cardiology fellowship
• Ability to interpret a broad range of cardiovascular imaging
• Strong clinical and diagnostic acumen
