Job summary

Stellantis in Auburn Hills, MI seeks a General Assembly Facilities Engineering Manager to lead design and installation of facilities and equipment supporting Vehicle Process Engineering for NA and Canada launches. You will develop project strategies, set technical standards, and drive continuous improvement across programs, delivering on cost, quality, and timing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of automotive or industrial project management experience in facilities design, equipment installation, and manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams, suppliers, and complex projects.
  • Strong experience with scope of work development, project execution, and budget management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D layouts, cross sections) and engineering design tools.
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Autodesk, and Teamcenter.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work on-site and interface with all levels of management, labor, and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and standardization of facilities and production equipment strategies across programs.
  • Establish and manage unit content matrix for facilities and production equipment.
  • Direct demolition and installation activities for new and existing program equipment.
  • Own and approve project documentation including scopes of work, bid packages, drawings, and execution plans.
  • Provide leadership in assembly tooling design, fabrication, validation, and performance testing.
  • Oversee assembly station layout and ergonomic design to optimize operator efficiency and safety.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across facilities systems and processes.
  • Lead launch readiness activities and ensure systems meet required cycle times and operational targets.
  • Drive resolution of downtime, inefficiencies, and systemic issues related to facilities.
  • Provide leadership in resolving build issues and coordinating cross-functional support.
  • Manage supplier performance and lead corrective actions using structured problem-solving and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through all phases of project execution.
  • Own program timelines, deliverables, and reporting to ensure alignment with master schedules and program objectives.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Proactively identify risks and implement recovery plans and change management processes.
  • Serve as primary liaison between VPE, Plant Operations, Tooling, and Industrial Engineering.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Provide leadership support for facilities-related downtime events and critical plant issues.
  • Drive rapid problem resolution and recovery efforts.
  • Act as liaison between VPE leadership and plant teams to ensure alignment and communication.

Job description

The General AssemblyFacilitiesEngineeringManager will lead and oversee projects for the design and installation of facilities and equipment supportingVehicle Process Engineering innew model launches in North America and Canada. This role is responsible for developing and executing project strategies, establishing technical standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Manager will ensure successful delivery of programs while meeting cost, quality, and timing objectives, and will provide leadership to cross-functional teams, suppliers, and plant stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of automotive or industrial project management experiencein facilities design, equipment installation, and manufacturing environments
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams, suppliers, and complex projects
  • Strong experience with scope of work development, project execution, and budget management
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D layouts, cross sections) and engineering design tools

  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Familiarity with 3D design and Teamcenter Visualization
  • Experience working with plant skilled trades and installation contractors
  • Experience working with bargaining unit environments
