Group 1 Automotive is seeking an Accounting Intern to join our Corporate Accounting team. You will gain hands-on experience in accounting and finance within a large, publicly traded organization and work under the Accounting Manager to support daily activities and strategic projects.

You will collaborate with multiple finance and corporate teams, gain exposure to month-end close and financial reporting, and develop practical technical, analytical, and professional skills in a fast-paced

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Preferred minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take on new responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with general accounting processes and day‑to‑day accounting activities.
  • Participate in month‑end financial close activities.
  • Assist with account reconciliations and research discrepancies as needed.
  • Support financial analysis and reporting activities.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of financial information.
  • Help maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.

Group 1 Automotive, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Intern to join our Corporate Accounting team. Reporting into the Accounting Manager, this internship provides hands‑on experience in accounting and finance while offering exposure to the operations of a leading automotive retailer.

Group 1 Automotive’s Accounting Department plays an integral role in supporting the financial integrity and performance of the organization. The team is responsible for a broad range of accounting activities, including financial reporting, general accounting, month‑end close, reconciliations, financial analysis, and maintaining accurate financial information across the business. Accounting professionals partner closely with Finance and other corporate and operational teams to support accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and informed business decision‑making.

As an Accounting Intern, you will work alongside experienced accounting professionals and contribute to meaningful day‑to‑day activities and projects. You’ll gain an understanding of how accounting principles are applied in a real‑world corporate environment while developing practical technical, analytical, and professional skills.
