Job summary

Vistra Corporate Services Company in Irving, Texas is seeking a Lead Developer (Python, GenAI) to build data-driven solutions and advance ML platforms in partnership with Enterprise Data & Analytics. You will own design and implementation of Python services that embed LLM capabilities across the ecosystem while championing Generative AI.

Qualifications

• 6-9 years of professional software development experience with a strong emphasis on Python.
• Strong familiarity in applying Generative AI capabilities, including prompt design, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, embeddings & vector stores, and agentic AI.
• Data-centric engineering experience building services and tools within a data engineering organization.
• Proven experience building and scaling software solutions in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• An enthusiasm for staying current with AI trends and the pragmatic ability to apply them.
• Solid background in DevOps workflows, including Infrastructure as Code, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with teams outside of Technology to identify and implement novel AI solutions that solve real-world challenges.
• AI Integration: Embed Generative AI into workflows for developing enterprise data products and ML platforms to drastically improve efficiency and developer velocity.
• Technical Excellence: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Python applications and services while promoting best practices for testing, documentation, and maintainability.
• Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior developers and offshore delivery resources.
• Governance & Security: Partner with security, risk, and compliance teams to ensure all solutions meet enterprise standards for governance, privacy, and ethics.
• Technology Evaluation: Proactively evaluate emerging technologies in the data and AI space to determine their practical viability and business value.
