Job summary

Google Public Sector is seeking a Manager for GenAI Forward Deployed Engineering to lead a team of AI/ML engineers across Federal and SLED markets. You will bridge frontier AI products with production-grade deployments, tackling data sovereignty and security challenges.

You will mentor the team, balance product alignment, and drive roadmaps while resolving operational blockers and building internal tools for efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years in a sales engineer or technical consultant role in cloud computing.
• 5 years leading a Software Engineering/ FDE or similar customer-facing team.
• Proficiency in Python or similar language.
• Experience building AI/GenAI solutions or agentic workflows.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Establish code standards, architecture best practices, and benchmarks for the team.
• Partner with Sales and Tech Leadership to define requirements for high-value opportunities.
• Lead technical hiring for FDE, evaluating AI/ML and systems engineering skills.
• Identify skill gaps in emerging tech and maintain subject-matter expertise in AI stack.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate field insights into roadmaps.
