Amazon's OTS Supply Chain team is hiring a Sr. Systems Development Engineer to transform technology infrastructure with Gen-AI powered solutions for critical supply chain systems.

This role focuses on building scalable distributed services, real-time validation, and workflow automation while guiding engineers, partnering with product managers, and driving architectural decisions across the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language: Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
• Experience with Linux/Unix and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build distributed micro-services handling millions of transactions daily with 99.99% uptime SLAs.
• Design unified platforms consolidating legacy systems into single customer interfaces.
• Implement real-time validation services with sub-second response times.
• Develop scalable data ingestion engines supporting multiple formats with guardrail-based validation.
• Build workflow automation systems with configurable approval routing and SLA tracking.
• Optimize database queries and caching strategies ensuring sub-100ms response times for critical paths.
• Design event-driven architectures using AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS).
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical design discussions.
• Establish best practices for system design, testing, and deployment.
