Job summary

AIToolboard in Washington, DC is seeking a Gen AI / Machine Learning Engineer (NLP Focus) to design, develop, and deploy AI-driven NLP solutions for enterprise apps. The role emphasizes scalable ML systems, LLM fine-tuning, and production pipelines.

You will collaborate with data engineers and software teams, implement RAG architectures, ensure responsible AI practices, and contribute to architecture standards. Requires 5+ years ML/AI, 3+ years NLP, and strong Python and cloud experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, ML, Data Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Machine Learning or AI engineering.
• 3+ years hands-on NLP experience.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn.
• Experience with Hugging Face Transformers, OpenAI LLM APIs, LangChain.
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, Weaviate).
• Knowledge of embeddings, tokenization, text classification, NER, sentiment, semantic search.
• REST APIs and microservices; CI/CD for ML deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy NLP and Generative AI solutions in production environments.
• Fine-tune and optimize Large Language Models (LLMs) for domain-specific use cases.
• Build and maintain ML pipelines for data ingestion, preprocessing, training, and inference.
• Develop prompt engineering strategies and evaluate model performance.
• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Collaborate with data engineers and software teams to integrate AI models into applications.
• Ensure responsible AI practices including bias mitigation, explainability, and governance.
• Maintain documentation and contribute to AI best practices and architecture standards.
