Job summary

Photon is seeking an experienced Java Developer to design scalable enterprise apps and integrate GenAI into distributed systems. You will lead system design, build event-driven architectures with Kafka, and develop secure REST services.

The role emphasizes strong Java/Spring Boot expertise, microservices, and Python-based GenAI integrations, with collaboration across architects, data engineers, and ML engineers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Java/J2EE development.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Deep knowledge of System Design, distributed systems, patterns, and API architecture.
• Hands-on with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Python for AI/GenAI integrations.
• Experience with GenAI architectures and LLMs.
• Familiar with RAG, vector DBs, embeddings, and AI agents.
• Experience integrating LLMs (OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, Llama).
• Strong REST, security, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and DevOps practices preferred.

• Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, frameworks, design patterns, and architectural approaches.
• Drive performance, scalability, reliability, security, and observability across distributed systems.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, data engineers, ML engineers, and development teams.
• Provide technical leadership, conduct code/design reviews, and mentor engineering teams.

About Role

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with strong expertise in System Design, Microservices, Spring Boot, Kafka, Python, and GenAI Architecture. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing scalable, high-performance enterprise applications and integrating modern GenAI capabilities into distributed systems.

Mandatory Skills:

• 8+ years of experience in Java/J2EE application development.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture.
• Strong understanding of System Design, Distributed Systems, Design Patterns, and API Architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architecture.
• Strong Python programming experience, particularly for AI/GenAI integrations.
• Experience designing or implementing GenAI architectures and LLM-based applications.
• Knowledge of RAG, Vector Databases, Embeddings, Prompt Engineering, and AI Agents.
• Experience integrating LLMs such as OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, Llama, or similar models.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, authentication, security, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices is preferred.

Qualification: Bachelor's Degree

Nice to Have Skills:

• LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar GenAI frameworks.
• Vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, pgvector, or similar.
• Experience building Agentic AI / Multi-Agent Systems.
• Knowledge of AI/ML concepts and model deployment.
• Experience with observability tools and distributed tracing.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.
