The Gas and Chemical Systems (GCS) Gas Equipment Engineer role is focused on comprehensively owning, maintaining, supporting, and improving specialty and bulk gas supply systems at Samsung. As a part of the Gas Systems team, you will provide support by interacting with the on-site operations and maintenance teams, as well as customer groups, to ensure world-class performance of equipment providing critical supply to Fab production.
This role is also responsible for coordinating the startup and commissioning of newly installed equipment, as well as developing and executing projects to expand and improve equipment sets for the group.
The role will involve management and oversight of Hazardous Production Materials (HPM), and places a premium on safety expertise and dedication.
Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Gas Systems Engineer will provide technical expertise and ownership for supply systems, safety and quality standards, and improvements for those systems. Engineer will interact with operations teams, maintenance teams, construction teams, and equipment vendors to sustain and maintain equipment.
Troubleshoot emergent equipment issues and provide technical direction to resolve.
Work with maintenance teams to plan and execute non-standard equipment maintenance to address failures or equipment improvements.
Communicate and coordinate with Fab Engineering groups to provide technical support, supply issue resolution, and collaboration for improved safety, quality, and system reliability.
Commission and startup new equipment installations.
Evaluate future scenario planning including infrastructure budget and schedule forecasting, utilization and capacity data analysis, and reporting.
Support and lead MOC for PSM and RMP covered processes (possible, if owning relevant equipment)
Develop and drive continuous improvement projects to improve quality, productivity, and safety, while also reducing cost.
Implement standardization methods across equipment fleet (work processes, alarm management, 6s principles).
Optimize PM (preventative maintenance) strategies for aging assets to minimize risk of unexpected failures.
Improve process control and monitoring methods to ensure a robust proactive approach to sustaining large equipment sets.
Here’s what you’ll need:
The current base salary range for this role is between $76,000 - $145,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
