Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Jr- to Mid-level GCP Data Engineer in Chandler, AZ, on a hybrid basis. The project focuses on migrating on-prem data workloads to GCP and building scalable pipelines using Hadoop, PySpark, Python, and Spark Streaming.

The role requires hands-on experience with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Data Proc, and Cloud Composer, plus real-time processing with Kafka, Flink, and Spark Streaming. Contract position with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of data engineering experience with Hadoop and GCP data solutions.
• Experience with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Data Proc and Cloud Composer.
• 2+ years real-time processing with Kafka, Flink and Spark Streaming.
• 3+ years of data lake experience with Python.

Responsibilities

• Build and support Sparkbased processing pipelines in Hadoop using PySpark and Python
• Develop and maintain realtime streaming pipelines using Kafka
• Design and implement data flows using Spark Streaming and Flink
• Migrate data and workloads from onprem Hadoop to GCP
• Work extensively with BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Data Proc, and GCP Cloud Storage
• Translate business and technical requirements into architecture, design, and deployment deliverables
• Conduct integration testing, production deployments, and pipeline optimization
• Work closely with internal teams, architects, and stakeholders to support platform enablement
• Follow enterprise changemanagement and accessmanagement processes
• Support a newly forming GCP data platform environment while maintaining the existing Hadoop environment
