Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a GCP Data Engineer to design, build, and scale data pipelines in GCP with a focus on BigQuery, SQL, and data warehousing. You will also work with DBT to transform raw data into curated datasets and collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to meet business needs.

The role requires strong Python scripting, Git usage, and solid data governance knowledge, with experience in large telecommunications datasets and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a closely related role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly BigQuery.
• Advanced SQL skills with the ability to write and optimize complex queries.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, architecture, and best practices.
• Experience building and supporting scalable data pipelines.
• Working knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, and operational support.
• Experience using Git or other version control systems.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines within GCP, leveraging BigQuery and related cloud services.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analytics.
• Build and maintain data warehousing solutions that support performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
• Develop and manage DBT models for transforming raw data into curated, tested, and documented datasets.
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Monitor data pipeline health, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and resolve data quality issues.
• Automate operational processes and data workflows using Python scripting where appropriate.
• Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards.
• Support the ingestion, transformation, and analysis of telecommunications datasets, including customer experience, call, chat, and network data.
