Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Data Engineer to join its Enterprise Data Services team. This hybrid role offers in-office collaboration across Columbus, OH; Chicago, IL; Hartford, CT; or Charlotte, NC as you design enterprise-scale data pipelines and automation using Google Cloud Platform.

You will work with BigQuery, GCS, Dataplex, APIs, and modern tools to advance metadata governance, automation, and intelligent workflows across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in CS/Engineering/IT/Data Analytics.
• Strong Python and SQL for data engineering, automation, and data processing.
• Experience building enterprise data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, or data services.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable, production-ready data pipelines and orchestration on GCP.
• Develop integrations between data platforms and governance systems for metadata and lineage.
• Embed governance controls into engineering workflows with metadata capture and policy enforcement.
• Collaborate with governance, product, platform engineering and business partners to deliver reusable enterprise capabilities.
