Job description

Consultant (GCP Data Engineer) – Orabase Solutions, LLC, McKinney, TX. This role involves cloud data engineering on Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, DataProc, Cloud Storage) with travel to client worksites across the US.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain large‑scale data engineering solutions on cloud and distributed systems.
• Build and optimize data pipelines that ingest, process, transform, and deliver structured and unstructured data.
• Develop batch, micro‑batch, and streaming workflows using distributed processing frameworks.
• Perform ETL/ELT pipeline development and data integration across multiple systems.
• Engage in data modeling using Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and Data Vault.
• Work within data lake and lakehouse environments using Delta Lake and Apache Iceberg.
• Program and script with Python, Java, and SQL.
• Orchestrate workflows with Apache Airflow.
• Perform CI/CD automation using Jenkins and GitHub.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, math, business, or engineering.
• At least 5 years of progressive IT experience, including the skill sets listed above.
• Willingness to travel and relocate.
• Educational equivalency may be met by a combination of degrees.

Compensation

Minimum salary of $156,998.00.
