Job summary

Paragon Cyber Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator to join a dynamic engineering team supporting GCCS-J deployments across multiple commands. The role involves configuring SEWS GCCS-J software, training users, and delivering technical support to US and international locations.

The candidate will handle system administration on Windows and Linux, server OSs, virtualization (VMware), and related tools. Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required; travel up to 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in information systems or related field.
• 5+ years of Windows and Linux systems administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of Server Operating Systems and virtualization concepts (VMware).
• Familiarity with Oracle, Sybase, or PostgreSQL databases; Java app servers (Tomcat, JBoss).

Responsibilities

• Configure and implement SEWS GCCS-J software and systems; develop GCCS-J courseware and provide operator training to US and FMS personnel.
• Collaborate with SEWS contractor and government personnel to plan OCONUS trips and stay updated on Theater issues.
• Provide system support to remote users, diagnose hardware/software issues, document solutions, and propose improvements.
• Respond to system outages and provide maintenance support for system/equipment issues.
• Support Emergency On-Site Sustainment travel to customer locations as required.

Job description

SEWS currently operates within three geographic CCMD's areas of responsibility (U.S. European Command (USEUCOM), U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM), and U.S. India Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) in support of the Department of State (DOS), U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) and US Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) missions.

Clearance: Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI Eligibility

Travel Required: Yes (up to 50%)

Requirements

• Configuration and implementation of the SEWS GCCS-J software and systems, GCCS-J courseware development, providing SEWS specific GCCS-J Operator training to US and FMS personnel, as well as system support to the local Colorado Springs, NATO, and various supported FMS locations
• Collaborating with SEWS contractor and government personnel to plan OCONUS trips and stay apprised of Theater issues
• Assisting with the design and analysis of user needs and associated hardware and software recommendations
• Performing system support for remote users to identify and resolve hardware, software, and communication issues, document solutions, and develop recommendations to reduce the frequency of repairs
• Responding to system outages to ensure issues are resolved per contract requirements
• Providing maintenance support for system / equipment issues
• Supporting Emergency On-Site Sustainment (EOSS) travel to customer locations as required
• Planning, developing and conducting GCCS-J Familiarization Training for CCMD and FMS customers
• Providing refresher training for existing staff as well as training for new operators
• Utilizing engineering skills to research, develop, test, and document solutions for Research & Test (R&T) activities.

Required Experience

• BS degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Working experience with GCCS-J version 6.0 and/or at least five (5) years of Windows and Linux systems administration experience
• Strong knowledge of Server Operating Systems
• Knowledge of virtualization concepts and products (VMware)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory (AD) for user and groups
• Knowledge of current Microsoft Operating Systems (Server & Workstation)
• Familiarity with Oracle/Sybase/Postgress database maintenance
• Familiarity with Java application servers (Tomcat, JBoss)
• Familiarity with Linux/UNIX applications and services (NFS, SSH, NTP, LDAP, HTTP, Ansible)

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Must currently have and be able to maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI Eligibility
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP)
• The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
