The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Patient Care Assistant - GB (CNA) for the Great Bend Hospital. This part-time, PRN role supports the nursing team by providing basic patient care and data collection under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include documenting patient responses, following care plans, and ensuring safety and compassion in all interactions. CNA licensure in KS/MO or state recognition is required with BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of general nursing assistant functions.
  • Courses in medical terminology.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 6 months medical center experience.
  • Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) licensure is required.
  • BLS/CPR certification required or within two weeks of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Collects initial and ongoing data as delegated to assess patient health status.
  • Documents patient responses to interventions.
  • Follows individualized care plans under RN supervision.
  • Communicates with health care team to ensure safe, compassionate care.
  • Unlicensed staff may perform delegated tasks and must comply with safety policies.

## GBC Med Surg CNA PRNApply: Great Bend, KS: Part time: Posted Today: R-58168# Position TitleGBC Med Surg CNA PRNGreat Bend Hospital## Position Summary / Career Interest:The Patient Care Assistant - GB is an unlicensed staff member who is accountable to and completes delegated tasks from the RN in a caring and culturally sensitive manner, with excellent customer service at all times.**Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions*** Collects initial and on-going data as delegated in regards to the health status of the patient based on chart documentation.* Follows an individualized plan of care that promotes positive immediate and long-term outcomes for the patient/family and reflects the plan of the entire health care team.* Carries out interventions safely and in compliance with policy to facilitate achievement of expected outcomes as delegated.* Accurately documents patient response to intervention /therapy based upon expected outcomes.* Carries out delegated patient care activities and communicates with other members of the healthcare team as evidenced by positive patient outcomes.* For safety reasons, employees under the age of 18 are not allowed to operate or assist with the operation of power-driven hoisting apparatuses including but not limited to: floor-based vertical powered patient/resident lift devices, ceiling-mounted vertical powered patient/resident lift devices, and powered sit-to-stand patient/resident lift devices (lifting devices).* For safety reasons, employees under the age of 18 are not allowed to provide care to patients where this is potential exposure to radioactive substances and/or to ionizing radiations.* Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.* These statements are intended to describe the essential functions of the job and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.
