Job summary

BlueStar Resort & Golf is seeking a Gate Host at Trilogy® at Vistancia® in Peoria, AZ. You will welcome residents and guests at the community gate, provide directions, and ensure security and smooth entry operations.

Responsibilities include coordinating gate access, locking/unlocking facilities, and assisting with visitor documents while delivering friendly, professional service in a fast-paced environment. Flexible evenings and weekends required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–3 years customer service experience with the public.
• Basic computer literacy; internet, email, and time entry.
• Strong verbal and written communication with the team and supervisors.
• Positive attitude and teamwork orientation.
• Self-motivated; able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Welcome residents and guests at the gate following the community script.
• Lock/unlock facilities daily; set alarms; on-call after-hours alarms.
• Provide gate system information and assist with entry documentation.
• Explain gate system operations to new owners.
• Assist vacation watch and monitor gate systems; patrol facilities evenings.
• Manage entry gate traffic to prevent accidents.
• Monitor deliveries and verify authorization for entry.
• Report maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

Trilogy® at Vistancia®: Kiva & Mita Clubs

Trilogy at Vistancia is comprised of three feature club experiences, the golf club, the original community centerpiece, Kiva Club, and the recently introduced Mita Club. The golf course, the feature restaurant, V's Taproom, the full-service Alvea Spa, and the events & weddings venue are all available to the public.

Where:

Peoria, 40 minutes west of Scottsdale & Northwest of downtown Phoenix, Arizona

Pay:

$16.50 per hour

Benefits:

• New hourly full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.
• Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off (“PTO”) in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.
• Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.
• Part-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Sick Leave in accordance with state guidelines.
• All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Gate Host monitors the gate entry, ensuring that all residents and guests are welcomed to the community and directed to the appropriate destination. This position reports to the Gate Host Supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Act as a “Goodwill Ambassador” to welcome all visitors approaching the gate using the community assigned script, including residents and guests, potential purchasers, construction personnel, golfers and restaurant guests, and delivery services.
• Lock and unlock the community Association facilities daily; set alarms and on-call for after-hours alarm calls.
• Provide gate system card information and construction passes; complete required entry system documentation; offer direction to visitors stopping at the gate to assure they enjoy their time at the community.
• Provide instruction for new owners on gate system operations.
• Facilitate vacation watch parameters, assist homeowners with entry gate operations, monitor gate system for maintenance related issues, and patrol the community association facilities each evening.
• Control traffic at entry gates to prevent accidents and confusion.
• Monitor delivery services and suspicious vehicles; communicate with homeowner and construction personnel to confirm authorization for entry.
• Monitor gates for maintenance related issues and report issues to a supervisor.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One to three years’ experience working in a customer service setting, dealing with public patrons and members preferred.
• Computer literate, with a basic understanding of the Internet, email, and entering work time.
• Ability to communicate positively and effectively with team members and supervisors about job tasks and responsibilities.
• Desire to contribute to a productive work environment by maintaining a positive attitude with team members and the public.
• Must be self-motivated, follow direction, and able to work independently with little supervision.
• Must demonstrate initiative, with an ability to think, work, solve practical problems, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment.
• Must have good time management, organization, and follow-up skills.
• Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness is expected.
• Must be able to pay attention to multiple details and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
• This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position operates in both an indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to weather conditions, and occasionally native wildlife, when outdoors on the facility grounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
