United Digestive is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and management with clinical and clerical tasks essential to patient care. You will manage patient charts, handle test results, prescription refills, and respond to patient questions, while maintaining HIPAA standards.

The role requires 2-3 years of gastroenterology experience, current CMA/RMA certification, and proficiency with EMR and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Current Certified or Registered Medical Assistant; CPR certification preferred.
  • 2-3 years of gastroenterology clinical experience preferred.
  • Must be computer literate and able to operate various healthcare systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors schedule and organizes patient flow for physician visits or in-office procedures.
  • Accompanies patients to exam rooms, triages, collects patient history, and provides physical assessments as delegated by physicians.
  • Schedules and obtains results for testing, procedures, and other services; communicates results to physicians and patients as necessary.
  • Performs or assists with in-office ancillary services and procedures as directed by physicians.
  • Maintains patient charts in the EMR; ensures HIPAA compliance and timely documentation.
  • Counsels patients with pertinent information regarding medical treatment or procedures.
  • Handles emails/voicemails and responds to patient inquiries promptly.
