Job summary

BJC Medical Group in Belleville, Illinois, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for a day shift position with 40 hours per week. The MA will obtain vital signs, patient histories, and maintain charting, while performing phlebotomy, EKGs, injections and point-of-care testing under physician supervision.

Responsibilities include triaging calls, communicating test results to patients in clear medical terms, and preparing patients for exams and procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification preferred.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, prepares and stocks supplies in exam rooms.
• Obtains vital signs, patient history and maintains accurate charting.
• Performs clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, point-of-care testing and injections.
• Triages calls and shares test results with patients and providers using correct medical terminology.
• Assists providers by preparing patients for exams, procedures and treatments.
