Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Geneva, IL seeks a fellowship-trained Gastroenterology Hospitalist to join our inpatient team. The physician will primarily provide inpatient GI care, perform endoscopy for ED and consults, and manage GI emergencies in collaboration with interventional endoscopists.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in upper/lower endoscopy, PEG placement, and GI emergency management, with a 26-week, 12-hour day schedule and hospital privileges at NM Delnor Hospital.

Qualifications

• Fellowship-trained BE/BC Gastroenterology required.
• Hospitalist role focused on inpatient care and GI emergencies.
• Competence in upper/lower endoscopy and PEG placement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient gastroenterology care for acutely ill patients.
• Perform endoscopy generated from ED and inpatient consults.
• Manage GI emergencies such as GI bleeds and obstructions as part of a hospital-based team.
• Collaborate with interventional endoscopists and subspecialists.
