Job summary

Parkview Health in Fort Wayne, Indiana seeks a Board Eligible/Board Certified Inpatient Gastroenterology Hospitalist to join our established team. Schedule options include 7 on/7 off or 14 on/14 off (1.0 FTE) with a daytime focus and 1 in 3 night calls; two APPs and two RN extenders support the service.

Qualifications

• Board eligible or board certified in gastroenterology.
• Inpatient GI hospitalist experience or current practice in inpatient GI settings.
• Ability to coordinate endoscopy scheduling and inpatient consults.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient gastroenterology consult service responsibilities.
• Work with APPs and RNs to manage patient care and endoscopy coordination.
• Provide rapid assessment and treatment planning for inpatient GI cases.

Parkview Health is actively recruiting a Board Eligible/Board Certified Inpatient Gastroenterology Hospitalist to join their well-established team in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Specifics of The Role

• Shift options: 7 on /7 off or 14 on / 14 off, for a total of 26 weeks per year for 1.0 FTE
• Schedule: Monday through Sunday
• Night Call coverage is on average 1 in 3 during your shift with inpatient nocturnist APP taking first call
• Consult only GI inpatient service.
• Cover only one hospital during the day (2 hospitals at night)
• Excellent support with 2 APPs and 2 RN physician extenders on the inpatient team seeing consults, arranging endoscopy, arranging follow up, etc. Work up optimized for physician to quickly assess and treat
• Highly competitive compensation package with earning potential up to near $700,000 annually

The Team

Our providers consist of outpatient general gastroenterology, interventional gastroenterology, inpatient GI hospitalists, and IBD subspecialty gastroenterology, and GI advanced practice providers who have completed years of specialized training in gastroenterology.
