Marshall University invites applications for a Gastroenterologist (Assistant Professor of Medicine) to provide patient care across internal medicine and gastroenterology. The position includes supervising students and residents, with opportunities for teaching in a university setting.

The role requires MD or equivalent, board certification in either internal medicine or gastroenterology, and WV license eligibility; travel to affiliated sites is expected.

Qualifications

  • MD or professional equivalent degree in Medicine is required.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • West Virginia Medical License eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical care to patients in internal medicine and gastroenterology as a faculty/attending physician at Marshall Health facilities.
  • Supervise and provide clinical instruction to medical students, residents, and fellows in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
  • Participate in rounds and present at Medical Grand Rounds annually.
  • Travel weekly (1–2 days) to outreach facilities in Cabell, Wayne, Putnam, Monongalia, and Mason counties in WV.
